Welcome to the 2nd edition of Open Tibia Spain Course. This course is focused on the management and treatment  of open tibia fractures from an orthoplastic point of view. The aim of this course is to update the knowledge and state of the art of the treatment of these fractures, to provide useful information in order to improve the care of these complex injuries in an interactive way , combined with the practice of different orthopaedic and plastic surgery procedures in the cadaver lab.


The course is directed to consultants and senior registrars  (Trauma and Plastic surgeons) with a special interest in the treatment of fractures, and more specifically open fractures.


Knowledge of English language is required.

The Open Tibia Spain Course 2019 has been accredited by the European Accreditation

Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 18 European CME credits.

The Centro de Donaciones y Salas de Disección (CDC-SD)  is a dedicated facility for the teaching of human anatomy over in the Universidad Complutense, offering also postgraduate and continued professional development (CPD) courses.

Supported by a team consisting of academic staff, demonstrators and technical support, the 3000 m2 facility allows space to work with anatomical models, prosected human specimens and the latest technological resources to deliver an exceptional level of teaching.
